In the past surfing was mostly a male sport, and the few women who learned how to surf were taught by men. Surf Diva, a school run for and by women, opened in 1996. Surf Diva teaches women ages 12 to 70, and holds weekend clinics for people of all physical fitness levels, keeping with their belief that anyone can learn this fun sport.
