State legislator Paul Koretz is advocating a bill to increase the legal smoking age to 21. He believes that raising the legal age to purchase cigarettes will decrease the number of teens becoming addicted to smoking in the first place. Some disagree with the bill, saying that it would cost the government approximately $25 million a year if teens quit smoking.
