Rex was born blind and with a cyst in his brain, but eight years later, is deemed a music savant. He was diagnosed with optic nerve hypoplasia at birth and was extremely sensitive to touch and sound. The one thing he loved was music. At the age of two, Rex was given a keyboard and his musical talents quickly unveiled. He has perfect pitch, and can play back any melody he hears. His confidence in music has developed his skills in other subjects.
