Los Angeles County produces more than 30,000 tons of trash every day, but fortunately, dump sites like Puente Hill Landfill have found innovative ways to recycle waste. The landfill is equipped to harness the methane gas emitted from rotting trash to generate power. Still, cities are required to find alternative ways to cut down on waste, such as providing separate bins for recyclables and other waste.
