Wushu
Natasha Chen
The ancient art of war in China has evolved into a modern-day sport, the rules and styles of which were most recently revised when the Chinese Communist Party came to power. Now, students around the world - including the U.S. - are training hard to combine power with grace for martial arts competitions and to do stunts in some major Hollywood movies.
Roller Skates
Michelle Olivera
Roller skating has evolved from a fun pastime at the rink, to competitive speed racing, to roller dancing in the park. We visit the history of how the little wheels on shoes were invented in the first place and see how today's popular trends bring young and old on their feet.
